About Us We are a small, family firm based in Uppingham, Rutland. We have been in business for more than 10 years, supplying stonework to the trade and direct to the public. Our founder John Finnemore spent 25 years with English Heritage following an apprenticeship with E Bowman and Sons Ltd of Stamford. His time at English Heritage was spent working on every type of building imaginable- from castle to house. He required great skill in repairing and renewing stonework. John has since been joined by his son Sherman, who has ten years of masonry experience, following a three year apprenticeship at Bath College. John's daughter Melanie trained at Weymouth College and has since joined the business. Stonemason James Cullen joined the business seven years ago. We are all passionate about stonework and we strive for perfection in everything we do. From flooring, to an eleborate fireplace, replacing old windows and carving new ones- the work we do is of the highest standard and comes at a very competitve price.
